JOSEPH ARAGON is a Winnipeg-based playwright, performer and musician. A veteran of the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, Joseph is a three-time Best of Fest winner and a two-time winner of the Harry Rintoul Memorial Award for Best New Manitoban Play. His plays include the comedy The Unlikely Sainthood of Madeline McKay (2003) and the critically-acclaimed hit musicals Bloodsuckers! (2004), Illuminati (2005), Conclave (2006), Lucrezia Borgia (2007), and Bloodless (2009). His musical Euryalus and Lucretia premiered in Montreal at the 2006 NTS New Words Festival. His drama To Forgive, Divine is published in the anthology Breakout by Scirocco Drama. He is a Playwriting graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS), and a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and the Prairie Theatre Exchange Playwrights Unit.
As a composer, arranger, lyricist and accompanist, Joseph has lent his musical skills to a wide variety of projects, including arrangements for the hit Fringe musicals Sorority Girls Slumber Party Massacre and Wurn, and the score for the Winnipeg Film Group short Starwatchers. His skills also extend to arrangement recreation, and has produced accompaniment tracks for the Minipop Kids series, and for various other CD projects, choirs, classes, and individuals.
